COOL HOLLOW FLOWER FARM

Maryland Grown Flowers and Native Plants

WINTER AVAILABILITY

The farm is asleep for the winter, but we are busy planning and growing for a fantastic 2020 season.  We've tripled our growing beds, planted hundreds of peonies, have our flower seed in hand and are getting ready to begin planting for the spring.  Some plants are already growing under grow lights, getting ready to fill your vases this summer! Please check back to see what we are up to.  :)

Although our farm is not open to the public, we welcome customers by special appointment and to pick up previously ordered flowers and native plants. Our first ever summer flower stand is closed for the season—thank you to all of our wonderful customers!  We are considering a CSA for both the spring and the summer, so please check back for more info and add your name to the email list to receive updates.

At present our availability is fairly limited, but we have strikingly bold red-twigged dogwood available in both red and orange, as well as some yellow, in 2-4' lengths.  We are still picking beautiful baby eucalyptus out of the hoophouse, too, and are wondering just how cold of a winter those lovely little growing tips can take.  So far they've gotten pretty cold!  The pussy willow is almost ready to pick with all of the mild days we've had.  Forsythia and white quince will be ready soon and can be forced for almost any date, so please give us a heads up if you would like some fresh yellow forsythia or pure white flowering quince to brighten your winter days.

We are happy to work with brides on a la carte and DIY weddings.  Please feel free to email and be sure to include the date of your wedding in your message.

We've tucked in thousands of premium tulips, including many double and parrot tulips in gorgeous soft and sultry colors, as well as many other bulbs for the spring (stately tall allium) and will let our customers know when they are nearly ready.  Spring will be here soon!

We are happy to work with you to fill your floral needs! Our flowers are fresh, locally grown, and grown with care for you and the environment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Laura

WHAT WE GROW

We enjoy selecting special varieties of annual and perennial flowers to add joy and beauty to your daily life or your big event.  We provide cut stems for everyday use or for events, weddings and other large scale installations.  Flowers and plants are our passion and we are always adding new varieties. If you are looking for a special color or a particular hybrid, please inquire. We are happy to talk flowers, cut woodies and native plants.

An availability list with specific flowers and cut stems will be published as the season begins and will be updated as extra flowers are available.  We will also have a list of native plants that we carry on their own page on the website. Please add your name to our email list to receive it and note in the message section that you would like to receive the availability list.

In addition to cut flowers, please note that we offer native plants. Please contact Laura if you are interested in a list of available native plants and would like to be made aware of when and where they will be available. Our plants are nursery grown and originate from a highly respected grower in West Virginia.
